Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 June 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Akio platform ("Akio", "the Service") operated by Teamakio Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Akio, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Who can use Akio
The broker-facing Service is intended for licensed mortgage brokers, aggregators, and authorised representatives operating in Australia. The applicant-facing journey is intended for individuals introduced to us by a broker for the purpose of a loan application.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe at the then-current rate published on our pricing page.
- The 7-day free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
- Per-use Equifax credit pulls are billed separately as one-time charges, settled to the payment method on file.
- Subscriptions cancel at the end of the current billing period. Already-paid amounts are non-refundable.
- We may change pricing with 30 days' written notice.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Akio to handle loan applications you are not legally authorised to handle.
- Upload data without the lawful basis to do so (including applicant consent).
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited communications.
- Resell access to the Service without a written agreement with us.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
5. Your data
You retain ownership of all data you put into Akio. We process it on your behalf to provide the Service. See our Privacy Policy for how data is collected, stored, and shared with sub-processors.
6. Service availability
We aim for high availability but make no specific uptime guarantee on the Solo or Team plans. The Aggregator plan includes a contractual SLA. Planned maintenance windows will be communicated in advance where reasonably possible.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by Australian law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, or loss of data beyond what reasonable backups would have prevented.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including under the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement on 30 days' written notice. We may terminate immediately for material breach or non-payment. Upon termination, you have 30 days to export your data; after that we may delete it.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email and continued use constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
